British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Envoy for the Western Balkans, Air Chief Marshall Stuart Peach, said on Dec. 15 that his government wanted a safe Western Balkan, “with strong democratic institutions and strong rule of law.”

“British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wanted me to take over the post to support the efforts by the United Kingdom across the region. The British government wants a safe Western Balkan with strong democratic institutions and strong rule of law,” Peach said in his message to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The senior military official said he was looking forward to working together with all the partners, including High Representative Christian Schmidt, and British international allies, in providing support for all those committed to progress in Bosnia.

“I have been in public service for a long time, and a senior NATO post was my previous. Before that I had been appointed to leading posts in the British army, among others the commander of the U.K. Army Headquarters,” Peach said.
