The BIRODI Bureau of Social Research said in a press release on Feb. 13 that the main news programs of television networks with national coverage -- Serbian Broadcasting Corporation, Pink, Prva, Happy, B92 had aired not one second of negative reporting about the governments of China and Russia, i.e. their diplomatic representatives in Serbia from December 2020 to the end of November 2021.

BIRODI said these networks jeopardized the right to information guaranteed in the Serbian Constitution with this type of reporting, while the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media was a conspirator in the media deprivation of Serbian citizens, because it is not exercising its legal authority to prevent unilateral information.

Chinese officials, including representatives of the Chinese embassy in Serbia, were positively represented 83.4 percent of observed time. Advertising representations were noted in the case of Russian officials and representatives of the Russian embassy in Serbia (89.6 percent of the time). It was also established that the largest portion of negative reporting was about the U.S.

"Unlike China and Russia, the European Union was represented considerably more than China and Russia in the monitoring period. Namely, the EU was represented neutrally 75 percent of the time, while one out of every five seconds on the EU was positive. Negative air time about the EU was 6.8 percent," the monitoring revealed.
