24 Die From Coronavirus in Serbia, 2,377 Newly Infected

24 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours, it was announced on the covid19.rs web-site on March 9.

2,377 newly infected were registered among the 14,693 tested people in that period. There are 1,538 patients currently being treated in hospitals, 73 of them on ventilators. According to official figures, 15,512 people have died from the consequences of COVID since the start of the epidemic.

Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic stated on March 9 that the fourth and fifth doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus would be recommended for the population groups that are more susceptible to the infection.

Tiodorovic stated in the interview to the Nova.rs portal that this would be a topic during the session of Serbia's COVID-19 Crisis Headquarters, which has been scheduled for March 10. In his words, the fourth dose is recommended for susceptible groups, those older than 60, as well as to people with compromised immunity systems, regardless of age.
