The World Bank Board of Executive Directors has adopted a new five-year Country Partnership Framework with Serbia for the period 2022-2026, which will focus on "greener and more resilient growth," the financial institution said in a statement released on May 27.

The goal of the strategy is to support the strengthening of Serbian institutions to achieve "a robust post-pandemic recovery," accelerate fiscally and environmentally sustainable economic growth and encourage the inclusive delivery of public services.

The support program, which is fully aligned with the Serbian government's aspirations, envisages funds totaling USD1 billion and "builds on the country's hard-won macroeconomic stability."

The program supports Serbia in integrating with other economies in the region, increasing productivity and competitiveness, and strengthening human capital.
