The Government of Montenegro announced that it had adopted bills to confirm accession protocols for Sweden and Finland to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Montenegrin Foreign Minister Ranko Krivokapic said that the two states’ decision to join the transatlantic military alliance contributed to overall regional safety.
“The Government has shown determination to do it. We are sending the bills to the Parliament, and I would ask the speaker to put them to a vote as soon as possible, so that we can fulfil the obligation before summer recess,” Krivokapic said at a government session. Since Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic’s cabinet was installed, government sessions are open to the public.
