El-Sisi: Egypt Expects Even Stronger Cooperation with Serbia

President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated on July 20 after a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that the result of contacts between Serbia and Egypt to date was "a new vision" of cooperation of the two countries, and that Cairo expected an even stronger cooperation with Belgrade in all fields.

El-Sisi said he and Vucic discussed business cooperation, investments and, particularly, the exchange of experience in agriculture, and that he was looking forward to future cooperation. He added that the topics also included the situation in Palestine and Libya, and the effects the situation in Ukraine has on the entire world. "Egypt's vision is for solving everything by peaceful means and through agreements, especially the Ukraine crisis," El-Sisi said.

The two presidents adopted a joint declaration on the establishing of strategic partnership between the two countries. On the basis of the declaration, representatives of Serbia and Egypt signed a number of documents after the meeting between Vucic and El-Sisi and the plenary session of the two countries' delegations.

The Egyptian president stated at the opening of the Serbian-Egyptian Business Forum, organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce within his official visit to Serbia, that the signing of the agreement on free trade and avoiding of double taxation between Serbia and Egypt would enable quicker development of the two countries' economies, and that Serbian businesses were welcome in Egypt. Vucic stated that he viewed the meeting of Serbian and Egyptian business people as an excellent opportunity for even better economic relations between the two countries. He recollected the decades-long diplomatic relations and that this friendship had never been broken, and stated that now was the time to establish the best relations in the history of the two countries.
