The events in Kosovo of a few days ago are proof that that was not the path to take, because it would not lead to the results that are acceptable for Serbia, and primarily for the Kosovo Serbs, said Milovan Bozinovic, the former Serbian ambassador in Berlin and Vienna and a member of the foreign political council of “Serbia – Center” of Zdravko Ponos.
“The answer to the question about whether Serbia is capable of preventing the introduction of reciprocal measures in Kosovo by the authorities there, by diplomatic action or initiative, was given by the American ambassador in Pristina, who has said that the United States stood behind all actions of Kosovo. He explained that with the claim that such action represented reciprocity, which is the practice of sovereign states,” Bozinovic told the Aug. 3 issue of the Danas daily.
He added that the postponement of measures by one month opened some breathing room, but that he believed the edge of the Serbian side would be dulled in that period and that a solution would be found. The core of the problem lies in the fact, he added, that Serbia had to seek a new basis for the dialogue with the Kosovo Albanians.
