A session of the Serbian parliament has been scheduled for Sept. 13, during which President Aleksandar Vucic will submit a “Report on the negotiating process with the provisional institutions in Pristina,” covering the period from June 15, 2021 to Sept. 1, 2022.
According to the official document, the report has been prepared by the Serbian Government, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the Office for the Coordination of Affairs in the Negotiating Process with the Provisional Institutions of the Self-Government in Pristina.
The 50-page report lists “the activities within preparation and realization of the negotiations,” relating to the Community/Association of Serb Municipalities, the police, the judiciary, the energy sector, the dialogue between chambers of commerce, hazardous waste transport, and the missing persons, the latter being the last chapter.
Parliament speaker Vladimir Orlic has said he expects a debate on Kosovo and Metohija to last more than a day, adding that after the discussion, the parliament will “have a say” on the matter.
The leader of the parliamentary People’s Party, Vuk Jeremic, has said that the parliament session devoted to Kosovo and Metohija must not be “reduced to a mere exchange of accusations between the authorities and the opposition.” He added that the session must not end without adoption of a document which would clearly define a framework and a roadmap for state actions in the future.
