Miroslav Aleksic
The People’s Party whip, Miroslav Aleksic, requested on Sept. 21 that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic should urgently send identical letters to the Russian and Chinese presidents, asking them “to use their veto power if a seat in the United Nations for the self-proclaimed Kosovo has been on agenda.”
The People Party said in a press release that in his letter to Vucic Aleksic suggested the content of correspondence with the two presidents, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, urging the Serbian president to notify the public thereof. Aleksic warned that speedy diplomatic actions were underway to compel Serbia to accept Kosovo’s U.N. membership, which was why it’s very important that the letter reached the Russian and Chinese leaders as soon as possible.
Aleksic went on to say in the draft that Serbia “is strongly opposed to the international affirmation of the so-called Kosovo, and that it will continue to be in the future as well.”
