The idea about setting up the so-called Serbian Bloc, which had been announced by President Aleksandar Vucic, would represent a response to the situation in which Serbia would find itself over the next few years, a member of the Presidency of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, Goran Vesic, said on Oct. 4.
“The idea of forming a Serbian Bloc is to gather at one place the parties, citizens associations and individuals who put Serbia first, regardless of their political differences and regardless of whether they belong to the political left, the right or the center,” Vesic told TV Happy.
Vesic also said it would be difficult to set up a Serbian Bloc, which was obvious at the recent Serbian Parliament special session devoted to Kosovo and Metohija, when the opposition parties were not ready to support “the government’s report (on Kosovo and Metohija) and demonstrate unity on this issue.”
Commenting on media reports that he could be “the coordinator of the Serbian Bloc,” Vesic said that “there would be no such post,” noting that “the person in charge would not have this title.”
