Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Oct. 4 met with EU Delegation to Serbia Head Emanuele Giaufret who “reiterated the prevailing stand of Brussels in relation to alignment of Serbia’s foreign policy with the EU agenda and imposition of sanctions against Russia,” according to a release from Vucic’s Office.

Giaufret ”expressed readiness for cooperation with Serbia in relation to resolution of all open issues which are crucial for Serbia’s further progress on its EU path,” according to the release.

Vucic and Giaufret exchanged views on the upcoming Summit in Prague focusing on the initiative for establishing European Political Community as a platform for dialogue between the EU member states and candidate countries. They also discussed alignment of Serbia’s visa regime with that of the EU aimed at fighting illegal migration, and talked about major infrastructure projects.

Vucic again thanked the European Commission on its support to Serbia in building energy infrastructure, which, he said, was of great importance for Serbia, noting that Serbia was fully engaged on diversification of energy sources and supply routes.
