The Japanese corporation Toyo Tires will be opening a new tire factory in the Vojvodina town of Indjija on Dec. 12. The investment is worth EUR382 million and will provide 560 jobs.

With a planned output of between five and 10 million premium tires per year, the plant will be producing Toyo Tires and Nitto brand tires for the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. According to statements given when the factory broke ground in December 2020, the intended value of annual exports is set at EUR240 million.

The Indjija factory is Toyo Tires’ first greenfield investment in Serbia and all of Europe, and is also the largest investment Serbia has received from Japan to date. The 63 hectares of land and necessary infrastructure were provided by Indjija’s local government.

With seven tire factories, four auto parts plants and nearly 13,000 employees worldwide, the Toyo Tire Corporation has been one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers for the last seven decades.
