Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti said on March 10 that he expected an agreement to be reached during the next meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Ohrid, dismissing again the possibility of creating the Community of Serb Municipalities.
“The agreement should have been signed on Feb. 27. Unfortunately, the Serbian president refused. The basic agreement proposed by the European Union (EU) was a solid basis for progress, and I hope we will eventually reach the agreement on March 18,” Kurti said for EuroNews.
The Kosovo premier reiterated that Serbia’s request for the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities under the Brussels agreement would not be met. “I am here as the premier of all citizens, regardless of their national identity, ethnic or religious affiliation. Accordingly, I want to satisfy all citizens in accordance with their rights, needs and demands. Given the legal system of our democratic republic, mono-ethnic solutions are not possible,” Kurti underlined.
