Kosovo delegation in Ohrid , March 18 2023 (BETAPHOTO/EMIL VAS)
Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti said on March 20 that the Kosovo delegation had been not only dedicated and constructive to the utmost at a March 18 meeting at Ohrid, North Macedonia, but also creative with its offers and proposals, which "the other side" rejected.
At a meeting with European Union member countries' ambassadors to Kosovo, Kurti said "the other side" had refused to sign the Implementation Annex to the Agreement on the Path to Normalization of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia, like it had declined to sign the base agreement in Brussels on Feb. 27, the Kosovo government said in a press release.
Kurti said the agreement paved the way to Kosovo's bids for membership in the Council of Europe and EU.
The press release further read that Kosovo already had the necessary votes of member countries for membership in the CoE, and that the CoE legal department had confirmed that there was no legal impediment to Kosovo becoming a full member in the organization.
Kurti also met with U.S. Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenier, who asked the Kosovo premier to work with U.S. on forming the Community of Serb Municipalities.
