Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti said on March 28 that for the Serbs in Kosovo there was no autonomy or self-rule, and that there was only a de facto recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.
"There is no autonomy for Serbs in Kosovo. They are citizens of our republic and I am their premier. Article 7 of the agreement speaks of an adequate level of self-rule. That means that were are only citing a framework agreement by the Council of Europe on protecting national minorities. There is no self-rule, there is only a de facto recognition between Kosovo and Serbia," Kurti told the Pristina media.
He added that "there can be no privileges on a national basis" in Kosovo.
"I am not for the discrimination, oppression, exploitation or the marginalization of Serbs. We Albanians were under Serbian rule for an entire century, nothing similar will be repeated, but we cannot also have a superminority in Kosovo," he said.
