Associate Professor of the Belgrade School of Philosophy Jovo Bakic has said that he is watching Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic invite nonpartisan figures to join the People's Movement for the State and that "the reservoir of spineless people here is inexhaustible" and that "one should expect a portion of the them to sell themselves, those who haven't yet."
"On the one hand it is amusing to watch who is going to have a change of heart next, but this, unfortunately is a sign of a totally fallen society, where what is called the intellectual elite is probably the most ruined part," Bakic told the March 30 edition of the Vreme weekly.
He also said that "they do not need to sell themselves, they are selling themselves out of arrogance, to live more comfortably than before, because their needs have increased."
"This is tragic, which is why I accuse them more than the common man who works from morning to dark, whom they then place on a bus with a sandwich, to go somewhere and applaud. This is much worse because it is not any necessity that drives them to sell themselves, nothing depends upon it. If someone won't raise their voice, then let them at least be quiet," Bakic said.
