Between May 8 and June 7, the citizens of Serbia surrendered to police a total of 78,103 weapons, grenades and other explosive devices, Bojana Otovic Pjanovic, a representative of the Interior Ministry, announced on June 7.
Speaking for the RTS public service, Otovic Pjanovic recalled that the deadline for relinquishing illegal arms with impunity is June 8.
Said operation was launched in the wake of the two mass murders that occurred in Belgrade’s Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School and villages near Mladenovac and Smederevo in early May.
