Leader of the Ecological Uprising Aleksandar "Cuta" Jovanovic has said it is time for the parties that are the formal organizers of the "Serbia Against Violence" protests to unite around the position that snap elections for the Belgrade Assembly should be held in September and stressed that there should be no break in the protests, rather that they should continue during the summer.

"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic promised in a meeting with (Freedom and Justice Party President) Dragan Djilas that these elections would be organized by April this year," Jovanovic, who is an MP and the co-president of the Together party, told the July 7 issue of daily Politika.

He explained that clear political positions, which in his words have so far been activist, should be presented.

According to him, "no breaks are necessary, but rather pressure on the authorities needs to continue, and those who are saying on social networks that we should take a break with the protests until September should state that publicly, too."

"I still haven't heard anyone among those marching in the streets who would be in favor of something like that," Jovanovic underscored.
