Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on July that he had forwarded an official request for a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who had said earlier that he would always be ready to meet with the Serbian president, concerned about tensions in Kosovo.
“On July 11 Stoltenberg was attending the NATO summit in Vilnius, and I expect to meet with him in the coming days,” Vucic said after he had toured a high-speed rail project to connect Pozarevac, Veliko Gradiste and Golubac.
Vucicsaid that the request was sent on July 11, explaining that his question was why the U.S. sanctioned the director of the Serbian Security and Information Agency, Aleksandar Vulin, while skipping Kosovo’s interior minister, Xhelal Svecla
