Serbia is a very important country that can be a beacon of stability in the region, the new British ambassador to Belgrade, Edward Ferguson, said on July 28.
In an interview with BETA, Ferguson said that London was genuinely interested in improving relations with Serbia and wanted to help it realize its potential, which everyone would benefit from.
Ferguson, who formally took office as ambassador by handing over his credentials to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on July 28, said that relations between Great Britain and Serbia were good and that there was plenty of room for them to be even better.
Ambassador Ferguson also said he had great ambition regarding the two countries' relations, and that he believed there were plenty of possibilities for Great Britain and Serbia to do great things together. He added that he wanted to revitalize historical relations and turn the contemporary relationship in a positive direction and to the future. According to the ambassador, Serbia has excellent economic possibilities and talented people.
