As of right now, an extraordinary vote for Belgrade’s local government and Serbia’s National Assembly may take place as early as December, the pro-regime daily Vecernje Novosti reported on Aug. 31, citing unofficial sources.
According to the paper, it is also possible that provincial and state-wide local elections will be called at the same time.
Should this happen, the Novosti recalled, all municipal presidents will have to resign, since the law stipulates that the next regular elections for local administrations cannot be held before June 2024.
