The Serbian parliament began its regular fall session on Oct. 23, where the MPs and ministers spent more time talking about Kosovo than any of the 60 items on the agenda.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said state policy was based on the principle of not recognizing an independent Kosovo or accepting its membership in the United Nations, stressing that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had signed no such proposals and that Serbia would only carry out what aligned with state policy.

Responding to an address by Dveri (Doors) leader Bosko Obradovic, who criticized the policy on Kosovo and the fact that Serbia was not represented by Vucic but by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic at the U.N. Security Council, Dacic said the Security Council would hear a six-month report that did not include information about arrests, persecution or the incident in the Banjska village, northern Kosovo.

Obradovic hailed the fact that 28 nations had derecognized Kosovo while this regime has been in power, but called on Dacic to withdraw the French-German agreement, too.

The 60 items on the agenda included the proposed 2024 Serbian budget act, land registry legislation, special legislation on Expo 2027, a financial legislation package and two media bills.
