The Serbian speaker, Vladimir Orlic, said on Dec. 27 that a new composition of the Parliament of Serbia would be in place 30 days after the Serbian Electoral Commission announced the final election results.
Orlic, who is also a member of the ruling Serbian Progressive Part , told Prva TV that "if anyone was wondering if these savages from the former regime and these hooligans" would manage to annul the results of the elections held on Dec. 17, "it’s not happening."
The Serbian speaker said that on Dec. 30 the elections will be repeated at 28 polling stations in Serbia, and after the Commission declared the final results after the re-run, there would be a 30-day deadline for a new parliament to be installed. "There is nothing controversial about it," said Orlic, adding that, according to the preliminary results, the list of candidates nominated by the coalition rallied around the Progressive party Aleksandar Vucic - Serbia Must Not Stop, had won an absolute majority in the Parliament.
In a comment on a statement by the Serbia Against Violence coalition that they will not participate in the repeated voting on Dec. 30, as they demand the annulment of the elections in the protests, Orlic said that essentially, it “won’t change nothing”. When asked whether the Progressives will form new government on their own, Orlic said he expects "others to participate as well" primarily the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians.
