The Democratic Party has said that its members on March 12 lit candles and laid flowers at the grave of late Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, who was assassinated on March 12, 2003.
“Zoran Djindjic was a reformer, a man who wanted to build a normal and democratic Serbia. Criminals prevented him from such state becoming our reality, on this date in 2003,” it is said in a Facebook post.
Representatives of the Green-Left Front laid flowers at the place where Djindjic was murdered. The party has said that Serbia can be turned into a respected country, a part of Europe, “a country from which people would not be departing, and where children would be born.”
Free Citizens Movement representatives, led by their leader Pavle Grbovic, laid flowers at Djindjic’s grave. Grbovic has written on his X account that Serbia was not ready to recognize and support a politician and reformer of Djindjic’s caliber, adding that it is the obligation of all not to let his vision be forgotten.
