Certain individuals surrounding Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic are working for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Vucic is aware of this fact, Aleksandar Vulin, the former chief of Serbia’s Security and Information Agency, said on March 27.

In a statement for Pink TV, Vulin explained that said CIA agents are positioned in “the higher echelons of government.”

“[Vucic] will decide whether we will ever tell the whole truth and what we will do regarding this matter. There are individuals in President Vucic’s immediate surroundings who are not working in the interest of this country, but against it. [Vucic] will decide on any further steps, his sources of information are excellent and he often knows about things even before our official services tell him,” said Vulin, who is the founder of the Movement of Socialists, a member of the ruling coalition.

With regard to the international pressures Serbia is facing, Vulin said that, just days ago, the U.S. “threatened Serbia” for acquiring a Russian anti-drone system which has successfully downed in Ukraine the same kind of drones which Turkey has provided to Kosovo.
