Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said on April 17 that an initiative for Kosovo to join the Council of Europe was proof that Europe was facing a crisis of values, and that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was rewarded, despite a clear message that he’s not interested in the Community of Serb Municipalities.
Petkovic said in a written statement that the Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija had no rights whatsoever, warning that their survival was jeopardized. “The Serbs are exposed to all forms of violence, committed by Pristina’s provisional institutions, not individuals, which is why we are talking about systemic and systematic violence against our people,” Petkovic has cautioned.
According to the Serbian government official, those who have allowed Kurti to behave the way he does are accomplices to creating a Greater Albania. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supported on April 16 Kosovo’s move to join the Council, calling upon the Committee of Ministers to make a decision to that end.
