In a welcome speech for his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade maintained very clear views as to China’s territorial integrity, and that for that reason he was always able to say that Taiwan was China.
“Thank you all for such a massive welcome to Serbia’s big, ironclad friend, Xi. The Chinese president will nowhere else experience so much love and support,” Vucic said, addressing the citizens gathered outside the Palace of Serbia. The president also said that the visit to Serbia by President Xi Jinping was historic, because a free trade agreement signed with China alone strengthened Serbia’s security, allowing for Serbian beef, apples, blueberries and plums to reach an enormous market.
“There will be no tariffs for Serbian products. Do you know what that that means for our country?” Vucic said. The Chinese president was greeted with state honors.
