Democratic Party MP Natasa Vuckovic has said she opposes the boycott of parliament, noting that a reducing number of those taking to the streets has called into question the purpose of opposition protests “I am against the boycott…I am assured that messages of protesters would have been conveyed to a much larger number of citizens had we, the opposition MPs, sent them during debates in the parliament, which are aired live,” Vuckovic has told weekly Novi Magazin.

Speaking about a possible boycott of next parliamentary elections, Vuckovic said it seemed that there was no consensus on the initiative in the opposition ranks. “The voices calling for obstructing the election process are concerning. It would be useful for all opposition parties to start preparing for the next vote, organize their representatives for election monitoring... These activities require time, knowledge and great energy. Unless you start them on time, they may not be finalized in time for the next elections,” Vuckovic noted.
