Perpetrators, Masterminds Still Unknown One Year After Murder of Oliver Ivanovic

The special prosecutor in Pristina on Aug. 7 questioned Silvana Arsovic, the secretary of assassinated Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic, as a suspect.

Attorney Dobrica Lazic told the Belgrade website Insajder that the prosecutor claimed Arsovic had switched the security cameras on the Freedom, Democracy, Justice party building on after the murder of party leader Ivanovic.

"They told us they had evidence against her for aiding and abetting the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. We were told that an expert analysis had shown she had turned the cameras on after the murder. That evidence, however, is insufficient to accuse someone of such a serious criminal offense. Material evidence is needed," said Lazic.

This was the third interrogation of Ivanovic's secretary and lasted almost three hours. Arsovic was also questioned on the same subject in November 2018, when she was arrested.

The leader of the Freedom, Democracy, Justice Civic Initiative, Oliver Ivanovic, was murdered on Jan. 16, 2018 outside his party's headquarters in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.
