The working group for cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has held its first meeting at which the OSCE’s recommendations for the improvement of the electoral process in Serbia were analyzed, the Serbian Government announced on Sept. 11.

The members of the working group, chaired by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic, have looked into what can be done in a short period to make the electoral process for Serbian citizens even better.

It was also concluded that the Serbian government had already done much in that regard, primarily by bringing in order the voter rolls which, according to the announcement, are much better and more precise than during some past elections.

The working group members agreed on the steps to be taken in the future, among which is a meeting with OSCE and ODIHR representatives to discuss specific issues that would further the electoral process in the country.
