Zoran Lutovac: A Supporter of Unifying the Opposition through Action

The president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac, stated on Jan. 12 that there were no factions in the party, but "only a small group of individuals who have their own stance and opinion."

He denied claims of a split in the Democratic Party, stressing that all important decisions had been reached unanimously by the party's organs.

"A group of people who are not satisfied with their position in the party are attempting to impose topics that would bring them to the forefront. We brought all of the decisions at the party's Main Committee with a convincing majority, including one on the party being one of the founders of the Alliance for Serbia... there were only nine votes against that," Lutovac told the N1 television station.

Commenting on the disagreement regarding the Alliance for Serbia, he said that none of the members who had appeared in public had raised the issue of the Democratic Party leaving the Alliance for Serbia before the party's organs.
