Sabac Mayor Nebojsa Zelenovic announced on Feb. 23 that the steering committee of his Together for Serbia party had decided to run in local elections in Sabac, in order to protect "normal life" in the city.
Zelenovic explained at a press conference that the decision to run in the local polls was supported by a huge number of citizens, adding that the Serbian Progressive Party chapter in Sabac had become a political wing of the "Sabac group" led by Milan Ostojic Sandokan.
A release from Zelenovic's office said that alongside its decision to run in Sabac, the party had also chosen to boycott Serbia's parliamentary and provincial elections, as well as local elections elsewhere in Serbia.
Following the release, the Alliance for Serbia said that by deciding to run in the false election, the Together for Serbia party had disqualified itself from the Alliance and the opposition which is boycotting the election and honoring its obligations to the citizens, arising from the Agreement with the People.
The Alliance decided last September to boycott Aleksandar Vucic's false election at all levels.
