During its chairmanship over the EU, Germany will support strengthening regional economic integrations and establishing a firm framework for cooperation between the Western Balkans and the EU, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced on Aug. 27.

This was arranged during a video conference between Chamber president Marko Cadez and German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier and lawmaker Joachim Pfeiffer.

Cadez and Altmaier agreed on the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans, "As this is the quickest way to firmer mutual relations in the region which leads toward the region's faster integration with the EU's unified market."

During Germany's chairmanship over the EU several key events and forums will contribute to the region's geostrategic position and its presentation as a unified investment destination, thanks to dialog with decision-makers, the governments of the Western Balkan 6 and Germany's support.
