The European Commission has paid out EUR14bn to nine EU member countries as part of a second installment of aid for preserving jobs.
Croatia has received EUR510m, Cyprus 250m, Greece 2bn, Italy an additional 6.5bn, Latvia 120m, Lithuania 300m, Malta 120m, Slovenia 200m, and Spain another 4bn, website B92 reports.
The aid is part of the SURE instrument designed to cover expenses directly linked to the financing of national plans for limited working hours and similar measures introduced in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
