Russian and Serbian presidents Vladimir Putin and Aleksandar Vucic discussed Russian gas deliveries to Serbia in a telephone conversation on Dec. 25 and concluded that “a stable system is in place for providing stable heating and electricity to Serbian citizens and businesses,” the Kremlin quoted the two heads of state as saying.

“Special attention was paid to Russian natural gas deliveries to Serbia. The two presidents agreed that systemic operations had been set up between the corresponding national structures, which would provide stable heating and power to Serbian citizens and businesses,” the Kremlin said in a press release, and added that the conversation was a follow-up to one in Sochi on Nov. 25, when different directions of bilateral cooperation, including joint projects in the energy sector, were discussed.

The Office of the President of Serbia stated that Putin had assured his Serbian counterpart that Russia would honor the agreement, and that Serbia would have enough gas this winter.
