Dveri's leader: Opposition seeks change of government, general elections

The president of the Dveri movement, Bosko Obradovic, stated on March 13 that the united opposition was demanding a change of government and the management of the public radio and television service and general elections.

If the authorities do not meet our demands in 30 days, the opposition will organize a large popular protest in Belgrade on April 13, Obradovic said at a news conference in Cacak.

In his words, the opposition is calling for the resignations of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic.

The opposition also demands the resignation of the management of the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) and Radio Television Vojvodina, and that the public media services report about the opposition and about different opinions.

"We demand, after six to nine months of free media and open debate on all channels under the control of the REM, that general elections be held, which must be fair, and based on the joint demands of the opposition presented in December last year," Obradovic stated.

He stressed that the demands were being made by "the united opposition" in Serbia and were backed by all the signatories of the Covenant with the People – 35 different political organizations and more than 100,000 citizens who signed the Covenant at the "One out of Five Million" protests, which were held in more than 90 towns and cities in Serbia.

"The message to Aleksandar Vucic is that he now has to make a choice," Obradovic said.
