There are some 50 Italian companies operating in Kragujevac, and investors from the country are interested in making further investments, primarily in robotics development, Italian Ambassador to Serbia Luca Gori and Kragujevac Mayor Nikola Dasic said in a July 24 talk.

Gori told reporters in Kragujevac that his country was most interested in the development of robotics because there was a university in Serbia that was very competent, as was industry support, and went on to say that a large conference was in the works for next year to present something more concrete on the topic and projects that could be shared.

Gori said Kragujevac was a very important city when it came to cooperation between Italy and Serbia.

He said a great number of Italian companies was active in the city and expressed pleasure with the fruits of that cooperation.

Dasic stressed that economic ties between Kragujevac and Italy were very strong and confirmed that Italy was planning a conference next year focusing on the high-technology industry, artificial intelligence and robotics.
