Zoran Djajic (BETAPHOTO/DRAGAN GOJIC)

Geological engineer Zoran Djajic has possibly played the biggest role in the process of shedding light on the deadly collapse of the overhang at the Novi Sad Railway Station. Djajic is a stone consultant who was unknown until the collapse of the overhang on Nov. 1. Since then, he has become one of the loudest voices demanding that those responsible for the Novi Sad tragedy be called to account. With his testimonies and analyses in the media, Djajic has been instrumental in acquainting the public at least to some extent as to why the overhang collapsed and has also largely contributed to sparking the protests and their expansion, which is why he is being hailed by some “as a national hero.”
