Vladan Djokic, the Belgrade University’s decent, composed and sensible rector, has been facing a media lynch of sorts over the past several weeks, which includes insults, slander and threats of prosecution. After unambiguously supporting student protesters organizing blockades on multiple occassions, Djokic is facing attacks as part of the Aleksandar Vucic regime’s increasingly fiercer strikes against the top echelons of state universities and schools, which are at the center of a several-month long uprising in Serbia.
