Over the past 24 hours a total of 7 people have died of the coronavirus  for a total of 23 deaths since the epidemic started while 115 new infections have been reported bringing the total to 900, epidemiologists said on March 31.

Infectious diseases clinic director Goran Stevanovic has called this day the worst day since the outbreak of the pandemic and added that he was afraid that the coming day's would be even worse.

"This is a result of the non-observation of the measures that were passed and if we continue acting irresponsibly like this Serbia faces the Italian and Spanish scenarios and there is no health care system that can compensate for that," Stevanovic  said.

Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic has said that the authorities "expect another wave of ill and unfortunately more deaths from the coronavirus."
