Vucic And Quint Ambassadors (Beta/Serbian Presidency/Dimitrije Goll)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on May 21 with the ambassadors of countries of the Quint – the U.S., Great Britain, France, Italy and Germany, and the chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia, and discussed Serbia's European integration, the forthcoming election and the situation in the region.

They concurred that it was important that the election is held in good atmosphere and that all parties have a fair campaign, and that the voters turn out in as great a number as possible, it was stated by the president's media service on May 21. They also discussed last week's video-conference meeting of the EU and the Western Balkans, the stalled dialogue with Pristina, the rule of law and the situation in the region.

During the open, constructive and substantial discussion, it was pointed out that work was necessary on good neighborly relations, with the aim of the full stabilization of the political situation in the region, the statement reads.

It was added that the Quint ambassadors and the chief of the EU Delegation praised Serbia for its response to the Covid-19 disease. Vucic thanked for the help of the EU and U.S. during the pandemic and informed the ambassadors about the economic situation and the program for the economic recovery after the pandemic.
