Politicologist Cvijetin Milivojevic said on Nov. 16 that the opposition in Serbia would be making a big mistake if it got carried away with the successes of the opposition parties in Montenegro and Republika Srpska and participated in an election without a prior serious dialogue with the authorities under the auspices of the international community.

"The message to the opposition in Serbia after the election in Republika Srpska is - do not take part in an election that is, unfortunately, not controlled by a serious and credible entity from the international community. It does not have to be only the European Union, it would be best if Washington, Moscow and Berlin jointly controlled the entire electoral process," Milivojevic told BETA.

He further said that in Republika Srpska, thanks to the international community, there was no lynching and targeting of political opponents, as the case was in Serbia. He also pointed out that only the local elections had been held in Republika Srpska, two years after the general election.

When asked what the moral for the opposition in Serbia was after the Montenegrin election, Milivojevic said that election coalitions had to be formed, which would not allow the dissipation of votes of the opposition electorate.
