In a meeting with EU Integrations Minister Jadranka Joksimovic on Nov. 24, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey said Serbia enjoyed Washington’s support in implementing strategic plans and activities on the path to a EU membership, adding that the U.S. government, by investing in infrastructure projects, would contribute to strong economic bonding in the Western Balkans.

Joksimovic and Godfrey said that all activities directed at achieving political and economic internal stability were strongly contributing to making Serbia the most attractive country for investments in the region, according to a release from the Government’s Media Office.

The meeting also discussed Serbia’s EU patch, the issue relating to bilateral and regional cooperation, and primarily the realization of the U.S. development assistance to reforms in Serbia.

They also touched on coordination of projects realized in Serbia by numerous international and bilateral donors with those which would be joined by the Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which has recently opened an office in Belgrade, according to the release.
