On April 5, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic welcomed at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade a new contingent of 500,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, saying that the country had so far delivered 2.5 million doses of the jab to Serbia.

She said that Serbia currently had just under a million vaccines of other manufacturers at its disposal, while after the April 6 delivery of some 106,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech jab the total number of vaccines Serbia had procured would exceed 3.5 million.

The prime minister went on to say that about 26 percent of the adult population of Serbia had received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine so far, whereas some 20 percent of the population had received both doses. "The aim is for us to have roughly 40 percent of citizens vaccinated with the first dose by the end of April," she said.
