The epidemiologist Zoran Radovanovic said on Nov. 15 that even though the COVID-19 infection rate was going down, persons in authority in the Crisis Headquarters and state must answer for the high number of deaths from the disease, especially in the last three months.

Radovanovic told BETA that COVID passes had been long overdue when they were introduced and that the state should have instituted stringent anti-epidemic measures in August.

"The new infection rate, according to official records, has declined in the last few days, but it's still impossible to say with any certainty whether that's because of COVID passes or increasing seroprevalence. It is unconscionable that the state is continuing to release incorrect data on the number of deaths in this surge, the fifth, when we know that 200 people have been dying daily," the epidemiologist said.

According to him, the government is running a shell game in falsifying the number of deaths and infections. "They're afraid of falling popularity. They're more interested in party ratings that people's health," Radovanovic concluded.
