Kosovo’s latest daily status report says that 22 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, nine of whom were infected with the omicron variant, the National Public Health Institute reported on Dec. 27.

The Institute explained in a press release that two cases had arrived from the United States, two from London, one from France and four patients said they hadn’t travelled outside Kosovo or contacted anyone outside the territory.

The samples were taken during the weekend, and the Ministry of Health and the Institute have appealed to Kosovo citizens to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions, get vaccinated and encourage others to do so.

Kosovo uses the vaccines approved by global health organizations and institutions, and no appointment is required, regardless of a recipient’s residence or citizenship.
