Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic accused on April 13 his Montenegrin counterpart, Milo Djukanovic, and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, of spreading “pure hatred towards Serbs and Serbia,” while playing the most prominent role in a campaign of lies against Belgrade.

In an address via the Informer daily’s portal, Vucic said that a dynamic campaign of “stigmatizing Serbia” from certain power centers and a part of the region had been carried out actively over the past six months. “It didn’t start yesterday, because the most prominent role in spreading pure hatred towards Serbia is played by Albin Kurti and Milo Djukanovic. They are using obvious lies to present themselves as victims, and paint Serbia as a mean aggressor who threatens them,” Vucic explained.

The Serbian president said that the two had used “a legitimate, regular and transparent” purchase of China’s PVO FK-3 defense system to tell the world that Serbia is a Chinese and Russian friend, allegedly a threat, even though surrounded by NATO states. “How can Serbia threat them with defensive weapons they are unable to say. For, it’s a system to defend against guided missiles and aircraft threatening Serbia’s airspace. How can Serbia threaten Pristina and Podgorica? Having in mind their air force, we should have bought the Autan (mosquito repellent) instead,” the president said.

Vucic also said that Kurti and Djukanovic had more serious issues to deal with, including crime, corruption and economy. “My kind request for you is to leave Serbia alone. Serbia will find its way. We are proud of the fact that we want to protect our own country, not let NATO do it on our behalf. That makes us different, and we are not ashamed of it,” Vucic said.
