Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on May 17 said that a series of bomb threats targeting the country represented pressure from abroad on Serbia for its refusal to impose sanctions against Russia.

“We are the only country in Europe which has not imposed sanctions against Russia and pressure has been incredible and amounting, and the recent bombs threats also represent pressure from abroad for not imposing sanctions against Russia,” Brnabic told TV Pink.

She further said that bomb threats had been carefully planned and had been “definitely” made from abroad, which could be proved with the fact that a bomb threat had also been made to the Belgrade tropicarium, the existence of which was unknown to most of citizens.

Brnabic stressed that Serbia had been paying “a high price” for not imposing sanctions on Russia, explaining that sanctions had become a major issue for investors, which had been additionally slowing down the country’s further growth.
