Dimitrije Dimic from Nis, a representative of students belonging to a group called Borba (Struggle), said at a protest in front of the Serbian Electoral Commission on Dec. 23 that Belgrade would be blocked on Dec. 25 if Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not accept the annulment of the elections and the investigation of election irregularities.

Dimic, publicly known for his hunger strike in front of the Presidency building this summer, said the first blockade would be on Dec. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. He told President Vucic, whose office is located across the Serbian Electoral Commission (where protests called by the coalition Serbia Against Violence are being held due to violations of the electoral will of the people), that the students did not accept "his tyranny and rigged election."

Those assembled in front of the Commission's offices have been protesting for several consecutive days after early parliamentary and provincial elections were held on Dec. 17, along with elections in 65 municipalities and towns. Demonstrations are being held in other Serbian cities, too. Several hundred people assembled for the seventh time late on Dec. 24 at the invitation of the representatives of the Serbia Against Violence ticket, demanding that the elections be repealed at all levels due to alleged irregularities that effected the outcome.
