The Juvenile division of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has questioned one of the suspects in the murder of Djordje Mijatovic, the brother of Vojin Mijatovic, the deputy prime minister of the government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while another underage suspect has meanwhile turned himself in.

The Juvenile division of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office had requested detention for the 16-year old suspect, BETA was told at the Prosecutor’s Office on May 28. They also said that in the meantime, another underage suspect had turned himself to the police. “The suspects are charged with murder,” BETA was told at the Prosecutor’s Office.

Djordje Mijatovic died at the Emergency Center in Belgrade on May 27, where he had been admitted after being beaten by two young men in a Belgrade park.

Vojin Mijatovic announced on social media on May 27 that his younger brother Djordje had been murdered in Belgrade.

The Serbian Interior Ministry has said in a press release that they received a report on May 26 that two unidentified individuals had beaten a man with the initials Dj. M. in a park in Belgrade's Vozdovac municipality, inflicting him head injuries. He was then taken to the Emergency center where he later died.

Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic earlier said the autopsy would determine whether the victim had died from the injuries he had sustained, adding that the victim’s underage son had first complained to his father that someone had taken his ball and that he had had trouble with two men.
